Developmental Aspects of Race in the Classroom

Presented by

Dr. Jann Murray-García

Featuring the youth-directed documentary,

“From the Community to the Classroom: A Youth-Directed Documentary of
How Young People Led The Davis Community Closer Toward Educational Equity.”

Participants will explore how race manifests itself in the classroom and in other places where we find children and adolescents. Participants will learn how to partner with K-12 students to create environments wherein all can achieve positive and healthy racial identities and thus maximize learning and academic performance. The goal of this training is to equip educators individually and collectively to close racial/ethnic achievement and discipline gaps.
